Temporary workers enjoy the same rights as permanent employees for calculating vacation pay. Vacation pay is calculated based on the previous year and depends on your status as a clerical worker or laborer.
Vacation Pay for Clerical Worker
Clerical workers are entitled to single and double vacation pay.
Single Vacation Pay
The single vacation pay is equivalent to the normal salary you receive during your taken vacation days.
Double Vacation Pay
The double vacation pay is equal to 92% of your gross monthly salary and serves as an annual bonus for travel or other outings.
Payment is made directly by the employer. During the temporary employment period, Update-pro acts as the temporary employment agency and is your legal employer. For this reason, you also receive the vacation pay, both single and double, immediately during your weekly payment. In other words, if employed in 2023 as a clerical temporary worker, you will also immediately receive the vacation pay for 2024.
Vacation Pay for Laborer
As a laborer, your vacation pay is approximately 15% of your increased gross annual wage (i.e., 108%). In concrete terms, the amount is approximately equal to 8 weeks' worth of salary in the case of full-time employment.
Payment is made via bank transfer by the Federal Holiday Service (RJV) between May 2nd and June 30th, for both permanent employees and temporary workers.
